Tree Removal of Athens GA is a tree service working in Athens-Clarke County and the towns around it. We remove trees, prune them, grind out stumps, and clear up after storms.
That is the whole of what we do, and it is deliberate. Tree work is heavy, technical, and unforgiving of shortcuts, and it is not something to do on the side of another trade.
How we work
We look at the tree before we price it. Every estimate comes from someone standing in the yard, looking at the tree, the access, and what sits underneath it. Quotes given over the phone are guesses, and guesses get revised upward once the crew is on site.
We put it in writing. Scope, cleanup, what happens to the wood, what is not included. The written number is the number.
We tell you when a tree does not need to come down. Removal is the largest job we sell and it is not always the right one. A tree with a single hazardous limb needs that limb dealt with, not the whole tree taken out. If pruning solves your problem, we will say so, even though it is the smaller invoice.
We answer. The most common complaint we hear about tree companies in this area, by a distance, is that they do not call back and do not turn up to quote. That is a low bar and we intend to clear it.
We clean up. Brush chipped, wood handled the way you asked, ground raked. Cleanup is a real part of the job and a real part of the hours, and it is included in what we quote rather than being an optional extra.
What we will not do
- Top a tree. It is fast and it is destructive, and the regrowth it produces is weakly attached exactly where it will later fail.
- Work in an energized power line. Line clearance is utility work. If your problem limb is in the wires, we will tell you who to call.
- Price a tree sight unseen, or start work on a number that was never written down.
- Publish a price list for jobs we have not looked at. Anyone who does is describing an average, not your tree.
- Pressure you. If you want to think about it, or get another quote, that is a reasonable thing to want.
Local knowledge, used properly
Athens is a tree town, and the county treats it that way. Athens-Clarke County has run a Community Tree Management Ordinance since 2005 with a goal of keeping at least 45% canopy cover, and it publishes real detail about which trees are protected, when a protected tree may be removed, and who is responsible when a tree fails.
Most tree companies do not read any of that.
